Our Academic Technology Team recently held a Tech Tips for Teaching workshop highlighting Zoom, Moodle Assignments, Kaltura and Virtual Escape Rooms. Thank you to all who were able to attend these sessions. If you were unable to attend or would like to revisit any of these sessions, please view the videos linked below.
In our discussion about Zoom, we looked at ways to set up groups and navigate in breakout rooms. We reviewed many advanced settings that you may find helpful for your meetings. One exciting new feature that just arrived is the ability for students to choose their own rooms. You may want to check into this.
We also had a session about Moodle Assignments where we explored ways to use the assignment tool. We explored how you can use the tool to collect and assess student work, as well as provide multiple different types of feedback directly to your students.
In our workshop regarding Kaltura, we demonstrated how to quickly add Zoom recordings to your Moodle course, as well as explored how you can use Kaltura to make pre-recorded lecture videos.
For our Friday fun activity, participants experienced Virtual Escape Rooms. These experiences create collaboration and teamwork, encourage critical thinking, enhance problem solving skills, and increase active learning and engagement. It turns out that the participants of the Virtual Escape Rooms were quite ingenious.
We hope these resources will be helpful. If you have any questions or would like to discuss these topics further please reach out to us. We would be happy to collaborate with you. In addition, we are also looking for your input. If you have any requests for topics or resources, please let us know. We are planning to offer more of these in the future.
